Anemia

Anemia is a condition of the body that occurs when the amount of hemoglobin in a person's blood drops below normal. A decrease in hemoglobin often associated with a reduction in the number of red blood cells (RBCs) and hematocrit. Hemoglobin contained in the red blood cells is responsible for the transport and deliver of oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. Without a sufficient supply of oxygen, many tissues and organs throughout the body can be adversely affected. People with anemia may experience fatigue and weakness and may lack energy.
The Anemia Panel is a comprehensive panel that includes a CBC, Ferritin, Folates, Total Iron Binding Capacity, Iron, Reticulocyte Count, Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid. This group of assay helps to identify cause of anemia & iron deficiency which is the commonest cause of anemia.
