ALBUMIN
Albumin is a major protein in blood, which binds and transports many substances, it is made in the liver. Determinations of albumin level in serum are mainly used in monitor and aid in the diagnosis of clinical conditions associated with hypoalbuminemia. Decreased albumin levels may be associated with severe liver diseases, malnutrition, nephrotic syndrome and inflammations. Albumin concentration is also determined during pregnancy.
